Compact
gas scrubbers for storage tanks and laboratories
The gas scrubber is, by its
versatility and broad range of application
possibilities, one of the most used techniques in the
field of industrial air pollution control (separation of
harmful components) and industrial odor control
(separation of
odour components). For the working principle of the
gas scrubber in general,
please consult the corresponding page.
In short, a gas scrubber is a packed
column, wherein the gas emissions to be treated are brought
into contact with a washing liquid (water with chemical
additives) to separate harmful
and/or odour components from the gas and absorb these
components
into the liquid. For smaller emission flows (odour
control as well as air pollution control), such as
for storage tanks and laboratory applications, a compact
counterflow gas scrubber is used. This kind of compact
scrubber hardly takes one square meter of surface, still
offering enough capacity to treat smaller gas flows
efficiently.
However, these compact gas scrubbers are
still completely custom made and specifically adapted to the
gas emissions offered. According to the (harmful) components
present in the gas emissions, the compact scrubber can be
made of SS, PP, HDPE, PVC, PVDF and even glass.
